Fondation Skifuture Saanenland

For children and young people who are passionate about sport, suitable infrastructure and qualified coaching are crucial to developing their potential sustainably. In competitive skiing in particular, training requires specific conditions that are available all year round and ensure safety, continuity and age-appropriate development.

Fondation Aline is convinced that sport not only develops athletic skills, but also strengthens personal development, personal responsibility and social cohesion. On this basis, it supports initiatives that give young people fair opportunities and create long-term prospects.

About the project

In April 2022, the foundation stone was laid for the Skifuture Saanenland Foundation, which forms part of the Sports programme. Fondation Aline is one of the foundation’s six founding members. In addition to making a significant financial contribution of CHF 200,000.00 towards the establishment of the foundation, Fondation Aline played a leading role in developing its organisational structure and business plan. The financing and implementation of the project were made possible thanks to the involvement and support of Fondation Aline.

The “Fondation Skifuture Saanenland” project is a public-private partnership, with both the municipality and the canton providing financial support. In addition, a club model is being introduced, enabling members to support Fondation Skifuture Saanenland through an annual contribution.

With an impact extending beyond the region, the foundation pursues charitable and non-profit objectives throughout Switzerland in the fields of youth sports and health promotion in the Bernese Saanenland region. This is achieved by providing training, development, testing and competition opportunities for young people from the Saanenland region and across Switzerland.

The aim is to ensure the year-round operation and maintenance of the new facilities for alpine skiing and Nordic disciplines. This will enable a large number of young people from the region, as well as from across Switzerland, to benefit from professional ski training in Gstaad and to prepare specifically for qualification for regional, national and international competitions.

Through its support of young skiing talents, Fondation Aline not only contributes to health and quality of life, but also actively promotes the resilience of young people, regardless of their socio-economic background or physical abilities.

Fondation Aline helped launch Fondation Skifuture Saanenland and laid the groundwork that enabled the project to be established. Going forward, it will act solely in an advisory capacity and support the Board of Trustees of Fondation Skifuture Saanenland in administrative and consultative matters until the project has been fully implemented.
